It is a pleasure to "meet you"!  I'm Robin.

I believe every individual has strengths. These strengths often times might not seem obvious to people when they are in 'the thick' of stressors and challenges. My approach in our therapeutic work is to assist you to bring your strengths out into the forefront, and then to help you further build upon them. These strengths--then partnered with helpful Cognitive Behavioral Techniques, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy Skills, and/or a Mindfulness Focus--will enhance your "tools in the toolkit" to improve your overall quality of life. Let's start this journey together.

General Questions

How is therapy helpful?

Not only should your exploration in therapy be a supportive experience for you, but it can also increase your self-awareness, self-empowerment and highlight your life views. Therapy encourages this development of self-awareness and identification of individual strengths unique to each person, and then builds upon these strengths. Therapy can be self-reflective--for the purpose of altering and improving your own approach to manage stressors, and for skill attainment (coping skills and problem-solving skills).

Is there a certain length of treatment?

We can work together to help you define your goals. Treatment is different for each person, based on your own individual needs and comfort levels. We will consistently review where you are at on the path to both attaining your goals and to foster your self-empowerment. This dialogue is a joint process.
